Garmin already a brand name in satellite navigator has introduced a GPS system for cyclists exclusively. Garmin Edge 205 Satellite Navigator is the basic version of satellite navigator meant specifically for cyclists.
Garmin Edge 205 Cyclist’ Satellite Navigator comes with display dimensions of 1.17 x 1.44 inches (1.86-inches). It has a height of 9.4 cm, a width of 4.4 cm and a depth of 2.3cm and weighs 88 grams. This satellite navigator has an in-built antenna integrated with high sensitivity SiRF Star GPS receiver. It gets its power from a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery with a battery life of 12 hours. It does not support memory data cards.
Garmin Edge 205 Satellite Navigator does not have any base maps installed in the system; however it allows users to store up-to 100 waypoints and favourites in the system. It can store a history of about 1000 laps and can automatically start a new lap. This GPS unit provides users with the option of inputting the time and distance and designing a simple workout plan and also permits users to create their own customised and goal oriented workout sessions. The in-built timers in this device can pause and resume automatically as and when the user stops or slows down.
Garmin Edge 205 Waterproof Satellite Navigator offers Courses feature wherein users can compete against their previous workouts. It is compatible with the Garmin Training Centre software that acts as a personalised trainer; providing users with information on their speed, distance, climb, heart rate against various terrains and elevations. It can activate an alarm on reaching the goal or when the time is up; it also has the capability of setting up exercise and rest intervals.
