Medion, a German based electronics company produces three major products, namely, PC related products (home computers, laptops, computer peripherals, software), electronic consumer products (TV, DVD players, cameras, video cameras) and devices related to communication (handsets, fax machines, satellite navigation systems). Medion has a strong presence in European consumer market and its products are slowly reaching out to the USA and Canada in recent times.

 

Although the PC related products and electronic consumer products account for three-fourths of the turn-over the company, Medion has set a strong foot in the GPS market by introducing its PDA with GPS capabilities. Medion GPS units are relatively cheaper and this makes its PDA to have a cutting edge over other GPS makers.

 

Medion produced its PNA 350 Navigation system which comes with traffic message channel (TMC). Its 3.5 inch colour display can show maps of Ireland and the UK to the street level. The MMC slot in this GPS unit has a storage capacity of 256 MB and has adequate memory to store all street-level maps of the Ireland and the UK. Maps have both viewing options - 2D and 3D views. The integrated, stereo speakers provide voice guidance in 15 languages. The pre-installed points of interests (POI) include restaurants, petrol stations, hotels etc. The GPS software lets you know all travel information including distance and time.
