Magellan Triton 300 sat-nav device, directs you to your destination or guides you in your hiking trips, with audio signals. Compact and light, this handheld measuring 4.65” H x 2.16” W x 1.22” D and weighing 187g, will easily fit into your pocket. The touch screen, which is large and has full colour display, measures 2.2” with QVGA resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

High Sensitivity Chipset

The SiRFstarIII micro-controller chip, which has been incorporated into this navigator, has good processing speed, and will display required results in a jiffy. A memory space of 10MB allows you to load the maps you require for your journey. A USB 1.1 port has also been provided for exchanging data with your PC. This handheld is compatible with NMEA standards too, to allow information exchange with marine electronic gadgets. Magellan’s VantagePoint software has been installed in the handheld, for managing views and other details.

Magellan Maps

A variety of Magellan maps are also available for uploading, like the street maps, recreational maps and marine maps. Two AA type batteries with 10 hours of battery life have been employed to power up the set. The navigator comes in a rubberized, impact resistant plastic case and has been certified as IPX-7 water resistant. So you need not worry if the set accidentally falls into water that’s not really deep- may be about a metre or so. Make sure you get the set out within 30 minutes, else, you might find your wallet getting a little lighter with the repairs. The display has an LED backlight, so you can view the details clearly in the dark as well.

Clear Signals with an In-built Antenna

The handheld also houses an in-built antenna for clear reception of signals, even if you are amidst the Forest of Dean or paddling in the Wye or Severn. The navigator is capable of giving information on sun and moon phases, vertical profiles, latitude, longitude and UTM too. The keypad holds 9 direct access keys that allow you to access features directly, thus saving you the trouble of scrolling up and down the screen.
