Magellan has introduced a hand-held GPS navigational unit that comes with touch screen control, a built-in voice recorder and a LED flash light. This Magellan Triton 1500 Hand-Held Satellite Navigator measures about 5.75 x 2.5 x 1.13 inches in dimensions and weighs about 227 grams without battery. It comes with a 2.7-inch screen that provides a 240×320 resolution. Map information can be stored on external SD memory cards. An internal antenna is integrated with an EGNOS/WAAS enabled SirfStar III GPS receiver. It can operate in the temperature range of -10 to 60ºC. This GPS unit provides an accuracy of 3-5 meters and gets updated every second. It is powered by 2xAA batteries and provides a battery life of 10 hours.
The Magellan Triton 1500 Satellite Navigator comes with built-in basemap of 48 Contiguous US, Alaska, Canada and worldwide geographic boundaries. If required, you can add detailed maps topographic maps as well. It is an amazingly easy to use device with 9 direct access keys and simple to operate menu system. This adventurer’s sat nav includes a voice recorder that can be used to record your audio notes about the waypoints, for sharing with family and friends. A flashlight option is available to be used while hiking. It also includes a compass screen so that you can view the direction in which you are travelling.
Magellan Triton 1500 Waterproof Hiker’s Satellite Navigator comes with a digital music player that allows you to listen to your favourite tracks whilst hiking. A headphone socket is also present in case you need to listen to it privately. Along with an audio jack an external antenna port is also situated, to be used in low reception areas. Finally its rugged and tough build enables you to take it along on all your adventure trips.
