The Clarion MAP 790 is Clarion’s latest GPS unit that works on iGo navigational software and includes navigational, entertainment as well as communication functionalities. This Clarion MAP 790 In-Car Satellite Navigator is compact in size and measures about 127.2 x 82.2 x 20 mm in dimension. It includes a large 4.3-inch non-reflective touch screen LCD display for viewing navigational data. Its internal antenna is integrated with a SiRFstar III 20-channel GPS receiver for fix with the satellite. Also it includes a slot for connecting external antenna. Its interfaces are a USB port and an SD card slot. The is equipped with a 2GB internal flash memory. It works on a processor clocked at 400MHz.
Clarion MAP 790 Satellite Navigator is equipped with the maps of 44 European countries along with numerous points of interests. The major landmarks and terrains are displayed in three dimensional formats. Along with accurate visual guidance, the unit provides spoken directions enabling the user to concentrate on the road better. The navigational instructions can be provided in 38 European languages so that a user can select a convenient one. Also it offers real-time traffic information, thereby notifying the user about traffic congestions and accidents well in advance. Also in these cases and alternative route is devised for the user. Also it alerts users on exceeding the speed, avoiding a user from getting pulled over for speed related issues.
Clarion MAP 790 Hand-held Multimedia Satellite Navigator consists of an in-built music and movie player as well as a photo viewer. Thus the unit can be converted into a portable multimedia player when not used for navigational purposes. It is also compatible with Bluetooth technology providing users the facility to make and receive hands free calls. Along with this automotive sat nav, users get an AC adapter, a car charger, a USB cable, a mounting kit, a TMC antenna, a stylus, a backup DVD and a start-up guide.
