Garmin has introduced yet another satellite navigator; the Garmin Dakota 10 GPS System for the outdoor enthusiasts. This is a rugged and palm sized unit that comes with some excellent navigational features. The Garmin Dakota 10 Handheld GPS System measures about 5.5 x 10 x 3.3 cm in dimensions and weighs just 148.8 grams. A 2.6-inch touch sensitive, sunlight readable screen has been provided to view the maps and navigational data. It comes with a long battery life of about 20 hours, enabling you to use the unit at a stretch without worrying about the batteries draining out. It includes an internal antenna that is integrated with a high sensitivity receiver for faster acquisition of satellite signals.
The Garmin Dakota 10 GPS System comes with 850MB of internal in-built memory for storing basemap data. Also a user can store about 1000 waypoints, 50 routes, 2000 geo-caches, an active track log consisting of almost 10000 points and 200 tracks. This unit can also be used for navigation on the road. Being waterproof and durable it is capable of effectively withstanding dust, bumps and water. It comes built-in with a worldwide basemap that provides you with the freedom to navigate anywhere with ease. It is compatible with TOPO US 24k and 100k software for terrain details, Garmin City Navigator NT for on-road navigation and Blue Chart g2 that is required for marine navigation.
Garmin Dakota 10 Adventurous GPS System provides tidal information, details about sunrise and sunset and a hunting/fishing calender. Additionally, it allows you to add custom points of interests. It is currently priced at £229.99 and includes a Lanyard, a USB cable and an instruction manual.
