With the new Mio Knight Rider GPS Unit, you can enjoy K.I.T.T style voice guided navigation. It includes an unique interface system along with some exceptional navigational functions. The Mio Knight Rider In-Car GPS provides a wide 4.3-inch touch screen display that has a resolution of 480×272 pixels. The GPS chip-set is integrated with a highly sensitive SirfStar III GPS receiver. Although the device has a 64MB RAM and a 1GB HDD memory, it also provides a SD card socket for increasing the memory capacity. The battery comes with a total life of only 2.5 hours. It uses Windows CE .Net 5.0 Operating System and a Samsung 2443 processor that is clocked at 400MHz.
Mio Knight Rider GPS come preloaded with the maps of US and Canada along with about 4 million points of interests. These POIs provide you with easy access to the nearby restaurants, emergency service, petrol stations, ATM’s etc. Maps of any other country can be downloaded from Mio’s website; useful for globe trotters. Along with accurate route guidance, this one also provides turn-by-turn voice directions in K.I.T.T original voice. The unique interface brings the look and feel of K.I.T.T in your daily driving schedule. Also this device addresses the driver by his first name. All you need to do is select your name from the list provided.
Design of the Mio Knight Rider Portable GPS has been inspired by the original K.I.T.T. It comes with a K.I.T.T LED display that moves in sync with the anamorphic equaliser for an authentic Knight Rider GPS light show. You can charge your Knight Rider using the miniUSB port. It has a dimension of 5.12 x 3 x 0.7 inches and weighs about 181 grams. This compact Knight Rider also brings along a device mount, an in-car charger, a USB cable and a CD-ROM.

I got one of these and love it. I have to admit that I still use my TomTom more but I like having the Knight Rider GPS. The KITT voice is awesome and I wish the company that supplies the KITT voice for this would have it for my TomTom too.
From what I understand it is a company called Navtones that does the voice of KITT and the voices i have on my TomTom come from Navtones too. i have mr. T, Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds…. Basically what I am saying is, i bought the KR GPS for the voice but now i want Navtones to let me have it on my TomTom.
Hi does anyone no if they plan on bringing this sat nav out in Europe or is it possible to download new maps???
