TomTom, the world leader of GPS units has introduced yet another device for the European continent. This TomTom Go 740 Live In-Car Satellite Navigator has a dimension of 127x85x23mm and a weight of 224 grams. It comes with a wide 4.3-inch LCD touch-screen display that has a screen resolution of 480×272 pixels. It includes a 2GB internal flash memory of 2GB and has a slot for connecting microSD cards. It runs on a rechargeable battery that has a total battery life of 3 hours. The device’s internal antenna is integrated with a high sensitivity receiver.
The TomTom Go 740 Live Satellite Navigator includes TomTom’s Map Share technology that provides the most latest and most efficient and updated maps and loads of points of interest. It comes with HD traffic services that provide you with real-time traffic information along with detailed incident reports and alternative routes. It includes the IQ Route technology and provides instant route recalculation in case of deviation. This GPS device also includes a Text-to-Speech functionality that reads out the names of roads and junctions as and when they approach along with providing you with timely instructions. This enables you to have better control over the road. It also comes with Speech Recognition technology that enables the device to be operated on voice commands.
The TomTom Go 740 Live Portable Satellite Navigator alerts you about the upcoming safety cameras occurring en-route. It also includes the Advanced Lane Guidance feature that directs you to the correct lane on a multiple lane junction. This sat nav also comes with Bluetooth compatibility, it includes a Bluetooth wireless remote control that allows you to control your device. You can thus exchange data between similar devices using the Bluetooth service. Also a built-in picture viewer allows you to view a slideshow of your favourite photos when you are not navigating. Along with this feature-rich satellite navigator, you get a a car charger, a docking station, an active dock, a CD-ROM and an instruction manual.
