November 24, 2009
ArcherMind Technology, a renowned leading Embedded Device Software R & D Company in China, has developed the world’s first Android-based Car Navigation System in its R & D centre. The company says that this new system will provide a brand new navigation experience to its users.
This new technology was shown at the Embedded Technology Trade show in Yokohama City, in Japan. ArcherMind Android Nav System is packed with a 7 inches WVGA display of resolution 800 X 480 pixels, a Marvell processor, a Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, a music player, SMS service, and more. An SD card slot is included in it for the expansion of memory. Hence, this new android based car navigation system not only provides the user with a navigation experience, but also with entertainment, internet, and location based services.
Nearly fifty engineers are said to have worked over a period of four months for the development of this new unit. Even though the price of this unit has not been revealed, ArcherMind hints that this navigation system is not intended for high-priced luxury vehicles.
