Garmin has announced that in conjunction with BMW Motorrad, they have designed the latest BMW Motorrad Navigator IV. This latest navigational system has been developed for motorcycles and is based on the Garmin’s Zumo 660 sat nav.
This BMW Motorrad Navigator IV clubs Garmin’s navigational technology with certain BMW specific features such as the customised mount, unique audio, Bluetooth compatibility and a preloaded BMW dealer database. The mount as well as the GPS device are waterproof, vibration tested and have been designed to resist UV rays and fuel sprays.
The navigational specifications such as a 4.3-inch touch screen monitor, turn-by-turn guidance, millions of POIs, voice prompted destinations etc. are expected to be similar to the Zumo 660. Additionally, A2DP Bluetooth wireless technology and an MP3 player has been incorporated in this unit.
The BMW Motorrad Navigator IV is expected to hit the stores in the later part of this year at authorised BMW Motorrad retailers across Europe and North America. Pricing details are yet to be released.
