Garmin has announced their latest additions to Oregon series satellite navigation systems, Garmin Oregon 450 and Garmin Oregon 450T. It comes with HotFix GSP receiver, which duplicates A-GPS Technology. This new launches are similar to 5XX series except for the camera.
Garmin Oregon 450 and 450T feature 3 inches colour display, user selectable dash boards, enhanced track navigation and high speed USB. Besides, they employ photo navigation and 3 axis tilt compensated electronic compass. This is a must if you are lost in wilderness. The barometric altimeter, which is an important software for geo-caching, waypoints and wireless exchange of tracks is loaded into it. The map loaded into it 100K topographic map for US.
These Garmin devices weigh around 6.8 ounces and their batteries offer a promising life time of 16 hours. The on-board memory is around 850MB, which is further expandable using an SD card. Garmin Oregon 450 and Oregon 450T has been priced at $400 and $500 respectively.
