Garmin International, a unit of Garmin who is a satellite navigator provider, has announced to have refreshed its GPSMAP 400 and 500 series. They have added a high sensitivity GPS receiver that works towards faster satellite acquisition. Also the digital design is improved for better map drawing and panning speeds and an NMEA 2000 connectivity has been included for integration with plug-and-play system.
Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice-president of worldwide sales has quoted that by combining performance and value, these new chart plotters have been designed for boaters who request for a high performance and compact device with a small footprint.
With the success of the GPSMAP 400 and 500 series of chartplotters, Gamin has stated to have introduced the new chartplotters in the GPSMAP 5×1,5×6 and 4×1 series that include a high sensitivity GPS receiver for faster satellite tracking and acquisition enabling boaters to effectively acquire and maintain a GPS fix.
Furthermore, these units are reported to be NMEA 2000 certified, thereby enabling then to be interfaced with Garmin’s NMEA 2000 marine sensors and autopilots. An optional flush-mount kit is available for each of the unit for customised installation.
