The internet Giant Google offers free navigation software for the users of Andriod in UK.
Sat Nav devices are now in a threat after the release of TomTom’s iPhone which is priced £59.99. If consumers use a device that runs on Android 1.6, they can get their hands on the product. This is possible using the Google maps that take up information via reports of live traffic and internet.
The product manager of mobile Google maps, Steve Lee explains that once the route is loaded into the device, it stays there for ever which means the user can see the route even in the places where there is no signal.
According to forecast published on 4th march by Trefis, stock analysis service, Google can sell about five million phones by the year 2010. It also identified that one smartphone of Google can make 0.4% share of 1.3 billion unit global mobile phone market in 2010.
