Navigon has launched the North American version of its MobileNavigator GPS application for the Apple iPhone. The software is stated to replicate the functionalities of a dedicated satnav unit.
It provides turn-by-turn navigation, preloaded Navteq maps, RealityPro view, Lane assist, 2D and 3D map views, etc along with iPhone features such as automatic screen rotation, multi-touch map zoom commands. Destinations can be pulled up directly from the contacts list and navigation is believed to resume following a call.
This application is supposed to cost $99.99 however until August 15th it is available for a promotional price of $69.99. It is compatible with iPhone 3G as well as iPhone 3GS firmwares.
