Navman and Mio have introduced their first and flagship satellite navigation system to the sat nav market of the UK, as a joint company. Three sat nav models will be launched initially as part of a broader ‘Spirit’ satnav range launch by the Mio Navman brand. The spirit range satnavs have emplyed a fresh software with a view to provide the user the required services in just a few taps on the display.
TruMap mapware is complimented by Junction View feature and NavPix photo navigation to enable easier reading of the maps in the Spirit models. Apart from these, a range of new features such as Google Wcities and Local Travel Books and Explore mode are also boasted by the satnav range. According to the manufacturer, these features would help the drivers to befriend with their location more conveniently.
The new features, according to Mio Navman would help the satnavs to provide the smoothest navigating experience with their ability to find POIs, along with a detailed list on where to visit, eat, and stay, and contact information for local businesses. Moreover, the company also claims that the Spirit satnavs can be used even used outside the vehicles, owing to their 2D city maps projecting Pedestrian mode.
Of the lot, Mio Navigon Spirit 300 Traffic SatNav is the base model that comes with a 3.5 inch display, as Spirit Flat SatNav and Spirit 500 would come with 4.7 inch displays complying with widescreen aspect ratio. The higher end models would also accommodate handsfree calling enabled by Bluetooth, weather information via AccuWeather and roadside assistance.
Although no word has been let out regarding the launch-date of the Spirit sat-nav models, Spirit 300 would be hitting the market with a price tag of GBP129.99. The prices of the higher-end models will be starting from GBP149.99.
