TomTom Emerges Britain’s St Bernard Amidst Heavy Snowfall

snow stuck traffic 300x240 TomTom Emerges Britains St Bernard Amidst Heavy SnowfallAmidst the heaviest snowfall in 13 years experienced by Britain, satellite navigation systems led by TomTom proves to be of tremendous help. The heroics of the satellite navigation systems come in a time when the regulation transport network was struggling to deal with the hostile weather. The adverse weather conditions in the UK that has been prevailing since early this week had forced the authorities to cancel all bus services, apart from delaying half of the nation’s rail network.

TomTom sat nav company said that it has been successful in keeping the drivers away from traffic build ups this morning, by leading them clear of the piles of snow that descended on the land over the last few hours of Monday. They also said that this has been possible due to the service of their HD Traffic Systems, a part of the latest TomTom devices that forecast the speed of the traffic ahead, banking on live data acquired from Vodafone mobiles.

A long queue of about 32 miles was reported at around 7.30 on Monday between junction 8 and junction 19 on the M25, making it the heaviest traffic jam experienced by Britain.
