TomTom unveiled ‘TomTom Start‘, an entry-level car navigation solution that blends quality, simplicity and style on October 6th in Europe. It is designed for occassional drivers and for those who have not experienced the benefit of automotive navigation system.

Light weight TomTom Start Car Navigation Device has a compact 3.5 inches display and semi-fixed EasyPort mount. The menu is highly simplified and has two button interface, ‘Plan Route’ and ‘Browse Map’. It comes with a choice of six StartSkin covers, with each costing 15£. This enables you to change the skin of your GPS unit. The IQ Routes Technology that provides users with fastest route, the map share technology that lets users to make changes in the map at free of cost and a speed profile worldwide are also incorporated in this car navigation unit.

The TomTom Start standard edition that contain regional map alone is available in black and white for a price of 129£. The one that contain European map has been priced at 149£.
