Information from a TomTom WORK unit that was installed in an ambulance belonging to MediForce Limited was vital in proving their innocence during police investigations of an accident case. The unit assisted MediForce Limited to prove that their ambulance had activated the emergency warning system and also to find out the speed at which the ambulance was travelling at the time of the accident.

MediForce reportedly gathers a great deal of information using the LINK 300 tracking device that is installed in all their rapid response vehicles and ambulances. The vehicles are also fitted with GO 7000 units. Information from the LINK 300 units is transmitted and processed in MediForce’s head office in Slough using TomTom’s WEBFLEET® software.

According to a report from FleetDirectory, David Hibbert, the Managing Director of the UK Operations of MediForce Limited said that the system gave them better control over deployment of their vehicles and that the vital information provided by them assisted their teams in times of emergencies with their “excellent satellite navigation and communications capabilities“. He also added that the systems were “particularly useful” when patients are transported to and from long distances, which might not be familiar to their drivers.
