Sony has entered the world of manufacturing satellite navigation systems. 
The new Sony NV-U92TW Sat Nav System is their new product. This device provides all the assistance that we need while going on a road trip. It is a portable device that displays 2D as well as 3D maps on a large 4.8 inches anti-glare touchscreen of resolution 480 x 272 pixels, covering areas of the UK in full and Europe including maps of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Ireland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican. The device weighs about 250grams and has dimensions of 14.5 x 2 x 8.7cms.
This satellite navigation system is useful only for automotive purposes. It not only provides locations of the UK, but also offers details of locations of Western European countries. Three sensors that are provided help in accurate positioning. The device can follow gesture commands and gives dynamic routing information. We can store our Points of Interest as well. A super suction cup is provided to mount the device on Dashboard or the Windscreen.
The device is also facilitated with a SiRFStar III Antenna and Auto Dimmer feature. It stores all the data in its 2GB built in flash memory that can be expanded using a memory stick. This device also provides TMS services and also comes with built in speakers.
The device works on a Li-ion battery that runs upto 2.5 hours. Other accessories provided along with the device are car power adapter, carrying pouch, USB cable, and vehicle mount.
