Finding your way across the city is made very simple with the TomTom GO 920T In Car Satellite Navigator, which comes equipped with a voice recognizer, a text-to-speech converter, an FM/TMC receiver, and other features.
Type in the name of the place you need to reach using the Qwerty keyboard on the screen, or just speak it out, and the navigator will be at your command to guide you there as fast as possible. It will also announce road names as you travel to your destination. Weather forecasts, read back tips and other traffic related information are voiced as well. An internal storage space of 4GB is provided as well, to store maps and views. These maps can be updated or altered by using the free Map Corrections utility that comes with it. You can even access these services and get latest updates, by connecting the sat-nav to your PC and transferring the required information. An accurate safety camera database is supplied with the device too, which is used to locate safety cameras and warn you about them. Now personalize the text-to-speech messages to suit your tastes, by adding messages or warnings that you want to hear while travelling. You can get advance traffic jam information also, with the device’s in-built TMC receiver. Apart from road guidance, the navigator features an iPod control utility, a document reader, an MP3 player and a picture viewer as well. You can also link the sat-nav to a GPRS enabled mobile phone to access Plus services and buddy services for locating other TomTom users.
The interface and menus are simple and user friendly, allowing quick access to the features. The antiglare TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 480×272 pixels enables clear viewing of the maps. A USB port, Bluetooth capability, an SD card slot and a powerful GPS receiver are the means of connecting the device to the world. This lightweight sat-nav, weighs 220g, measures 83(W) x 118(H) x 24(D) mm and comes in a grey-silver outfit.
